The 8 Mali Startups that will be competing against each other at the Seedstars Bamako Awards

Following a successful pitch competition in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Seedstars will next pitch a tent in Bamako, Mali. Seedstars will be on the lookout for the most promising startup from across Mali. The winner of the Seedstars Bamako award will get the opportunity to represent Mali at the global stage Seedstars Summit in 2017.

The following are the startups that will be competing against each other this Sunday, September 4th, 2016 at the Impact Hub Bamako:

AlikoCorp: This is a med-tech platform enabling private online transmission of medical test results from the laboratories to the patients. The result can also be sent confidentially via SMS.

E-Keneya: A med-tech platform giving users geolocation of healthcare facilities and pharmacies around them.

Feuze: This is an insurance tech solution, enabling the registration and geolocation of motorbikes.

HVM: They came up with a vending machine that works without using electricity. The machine also accepts African currencies.

Transup: They came up with a solution that allows mobile subscribers to transfer airtime credit between different operators.

Alliance J: This is a dating website matching women and potential husbands. In their matchmaking, they take into consideration the users’ ethnic background and culture.

OrientKey: A web portal for students in high schools and universities to get relevant education information and orientation.

Pharmoso: A med app giving users information about pharmacies in and around their neighborhoods.

All the eight participating startups have automatically qualified for two prizes:

Transforming Education Prize

A competition that will award a startup with the best solutions towards challenges faced in the field of education. The competition will have startups from across the globe, and the overall winner will walk home with a $50,000 cash prize.

Intel Solutions Challenge

Seedstars World and Intel have partnered to launch this challenge seeking the best startups in Cloud, IoT, Analytics, and Hardware. The winner will be invited to the prestigious Demo Day, where they will network with the two organization’s partners and scale their market reach and access to more funding.
