Brooklyn On Tech (BOT) is a 501c3 non-profit organization on a mission to inspire the next generation of tech thought leaders emerging from Brooklyn, NY. The organization also runs their signature program dubbed, Tech Flex Scholars Program; a yearlong enrichment experience for students enrolled in a Brooklyn high school. The program offers scholars access to academic, professional and leadership opportunities in the field of technology.

BOT is currently seeking mentors for the 2015 Tech Flex Scholars Program. The mentors participating in the program come from renowned companies like Shapeways, Foursquare, JPMorganChase, General Assembly and MTV. The video below shows some of the experiences from their current mentors.

Tech Flex Mentors are a distinct group of professionals that support BOT’s scholars throughout the year. They include developers, product managers, tech venture capitalists, community managers and digital media specialists. The mentors commit to the following:

Attend mentor-mentee meet-ups one Saturday per month

Meet one-on-one with mentee twice per month outside of scheduled programming (in-person and, or virtually)

Being a catalyst in introducing mentees to new academic and professional opportunities

Participate in optional BOT events (and mentor only events) throughout the 2015-2016 financial year.

If you are interested in becoming a Tech Flex Mentor, see the application. The deadline for the 2015 program is April 5th, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
