“Best Apps of 2014” Section now available on Google Play Store

As we just days to the end of 2014, users can now have a full authoritative list of the best top-rated apps for the year 2014. Google has just unveiled the ‘Best Apps of 2014’ section on its Play Store. The section has a total of 64 apps in total; some of the apps featured include TuneIn Radio, Shazam, Group Video Chat, Uber, Secret and Skype Qik. But not all apps featured in this section are free to download.

The section has seven paid apps like Ultimate Guitar Tabs & Chords, Amazing World Atlas, 7 Minute Workout Challenge, Facetune, Afterlight, Over and djay2. You can view the full list of the Best ‘apps of 2014 by clicking here. At just about this time last year, Google did a roundup of the best apps for year 2013.

As cited by Q3 data by App Annie, Google Play took the leading in terms of free downloads from App Store and its major contribution were from the emerging markets. According to the App Annie Index: Market Q3 2014 report downloads from Google Play Store exceeds downloads from App Store by 60 percent of the third quarter of this year, compared to the same period last year. Yet, App Store was able to generate more revenue that Google Play Store by up to 60 percent more. Additionally, the report says that games revenue recorded the biggest growth in Q3 2014.
