Blackberry may have given up on the smartphone hardware market to focus on its software business, but that doesn’t mean the company will not launch new phones. There are new Blackberry phones coming in 2017, the most important of which is Blackberry Mercury. This phone will have the complete software suite and apps of Blackberry, but the hardware is made by China-based TCL Corporation. Blackberry Mercury specs and features will be announced by Blackberry in the Mobile World Congress 2017 which will take place in February. Blackberry and TCL are partnering with several companies around the world, including the third world markets like India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh etc to market its new Blackberry phones in 2017. This is the last-ditch effort by Blackberry to monetize the last remaining market share (0.1%) it has in the smartphone industry.

Blackberry Mercury Specs and Features
Blackberry Mercury was revealed in the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017. But only a prototype of Blackberry Mercury was shown. Blackberry Mercury will have a hard QWERTY keyboard, the trademark feature of the Blackberry devices.
Blackberry’s new phone 2017 will have BlackBerry Hub, the DTEK security app, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). This phone will attract those users who want to use Android’s latest OS with a solid keyboard instead of a soft keyboard. Plus, Blackberry’s tag on a device is still powerful enough to attract attention.
Another great feature of Blackberry Mercury is the fingerprint sensor, which is reportedly enmeshed in the space bar of the keyboard. This will be a unique use of space, and Blackberry’s partner TCL did the right thing to use the space bar to put the sensor, otherwise things would have looked awkward. It will also boost haptic feedback and speed.
Blackberry Mercury has a rectangular shape that is elongated due to the keyboard. The size of Blackberry Mercury will be less than 5.5 inches. Some reports suggest that the display size will be 4.5 inches. The screen is even smaller, because of the fact that most of the space is taken by the solid body and the keyboard.
Blackberry’s new phone of 2017 will have a Snapdragon 625 processor. Some media leaks also confirm that Blackberry Mercury will have a 3GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, a 3400mAh battery. This battery size will be a great edge for this phone as most of the users out there aren’t happy with the battery timings of their smartphones, including users of Samsung’s Android users or iPhone fanboys.
Mercury phone is also reported to have an amazing 18-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
