#BlackGirlsRock Own your Magic!!

#BlackGirlsRock was founded by Beverly Bond in 2006, in order to empower young African American bondwomen. The organization name is also the name of a BET awards show called “Black Girls Rock!” It celebrates and awards black women who have dedicated their lives to creating change and inspiring girls all over the world.

The awards show aired over the weekend, and blew up social media. The show drew in over 2.7 million viewers.

Writing is a passion for me ever since 2003. While reading J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, I decided to try writing stories of my own. Ever since then I have practiced my skills from grammar and sentence structure, to story pace and character development. I am currently a senior at Eastern Kentucky University, where I am a Feature writer for the Eastern Progress while majoring in Journalism with a minor in Art&Design. My hobbies include writing/blogging, drawing, video games, entering writing contests, voice acting and singing.
