How to Blur Specific Part of YouTube Video

You want to post a YouTube video of your baby doing funny things but you don’t want your face to go on the screen. What do you do? This is a dilemma for many people who want to post a video of their babies and babies are too small to be filmed alone and they need to be held by their parent. That’s why YouTube recently gave the feature using which you can blur the specific parts of a video. You can upload a YouTube video and blur part of YouTube video quickly so that the world only sees that part of the video which you want them to see. Many people also want to hide certain places, numbers, names and other private stuff from their videos. This is the niftiest feature YouTube has ever given. So if you want to blur parts of YouTube video before publishing, here is how to do it.

Blur Faces and Specific Parts of YouTube Video Before Publishing

When you have filmed and uploaded the video, click on the “Enhancements” option below the video frame as shown in the image below.

You will now see the option with tabs called “Blurring Effects”. There will be two tabs with options” one is for blurring faces and the other one is for custom blurring.

If you want to blur faces, just click on the blur faces option and all the faces in the video will be blurred. YouTube’s smart detector checks the video frames and puts a blur on all the faces. But wait! We don’t want to blur all the faces or the face of your cute baby. That’s what the custom blur option is for.

Click on the Edit button in order to add custom blurs in your YouTube video.

You will now see a blur box on your YouTube video. You can move around the box and put it on anything which you want to blur. You can use this box to blur just about anything.

You will also see a black framed timeline. This timeline is for selecting the length of the blur which appears on the object. You can drag the timeline for each blur box and set it according to the number of minutes. For example, if you want to blur a face for the first 30 seconds, you can set the timeline for half a minute. This is a useful feature when you are uploading a YouTube video which shows something for a moment which you don’t want to publish.

After everything is set and you have done blurring and editing, just click the “Done” button and you are ready to go.
