HILL’s 2018 Call for Application now open – stand a chance to win $24,600 Equity-Free Funding

The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HIIL) in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs among others stakeholders have announced the opening of the 2018 Call for Applications. HIIL through the program, funds startups, projects, and ideas that seek to bring justice closer to the people.

For the year 2018, HIIL is searching for the most promising startups, ideas, and projects with up to 20,000 EUR ($24,597) equity-free funding for each category. Issues under consideration include, but not limited to, innovative ideas that champion fair and open employment, better ways of addressing land disputes, execute law enforcement and fight crimes among others.

Every year, HIIL picks the best and most promising startups, ideas, and projects from all over the world and support them through equity-free funding, business development services, exposure to potential future funding opportunities, and access to an international network of mentors.

The 2018 Call for Application is currently open. Both individuals and groups are encouraged to apply. The following are some of the themes HIIL is looking for promising startups, ideas, and projects they are interested in this year:

Crime and Law Enforcement – innovation improving relations between citizens and police or improving crime reporting.

Family Justice – innovations helping families solve disputes or injustices around family matters such as divorce, child rights, and birth among others.

Land and Neighbor Disputes – innovations solving land disputes over title/ownership or improving protection of property rights or innovations creating efficient, effective, and fairways to resolve conflicts between neighbors.

Employment Justice – innovations addressing employment disputes, business formalization, work conditions or job security.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) – innovations addressing challenges that business face and make it easier for business to register, operate, and resolve disputes.
