The International Trade Center (ITC) has an ambitious goal of providing a platform where a million plus female entrepreneurs can network by the year 2020. In line with this objective ITC has launched a website and mobile app She Trades.

She Trades provides an online portal where female entrepreneurs from across the globe can network and access markets from different parts of the world. The platform is targeting women-owned businesses looking for a global platform to market their products and services.

She Trades want to differentiate itself from the already existing such platforms by addressing the unique challenges facing female entrepreneurs in a gender-biased industry. In addition to improving their products and services to the world markets; the platform will be showcasing products and services ranging from agriculture to information technology.

She Trades also improves buyers’ experiences that are looking to buy products from other world markets. By providing them customized filters that will enable them to identify the product or service vendors that meet their specifications.

Arancha Gonzalez, the ITC Director, said in a press statement, “She Trades is an innovative tool to facilitate our efforts to connect one million women entrepreneurs to markets by 2020. It facilitates new business opportunities and potential partnerships and presents larger businesses with new sourcing possibilities.

She Trades tech platform offers an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to leverage 21st-century technology offered by mobile phones and the Internet to reach out, find buyers, to internationalize and scale their businesses.”

She Trade platform is a creation by the Kenya-based ICT solutions provider, Greenbell Communications. The ICT firm secured the contract after having come up first place winners of the 2015 WVEFT Tech Challenge; a program jointly ran by ITC, Google, and CI&T in support of startups creating solutions to mitigate the unique challenges facing female entrepreneurs.International Trade Center Rolls Out App To Connect Female Entrepreneurs To Market
