Kenyans on Twitter Show Chinese #RacistRestaurant That Africans Run the Town

Monday, March 23rd, Kenyans woke up to a shocking restaurant policy; No Africans Allowed After 5pm?! Such a story does not belong to the 21st century it should be there in a museum, somewhere besides the relics of the cave people. Because it only takes cave people level of thinking to pull the racist stunt pulled by the Chinese Restaurant that was operating at the junction of Lenana and Galana Road in Nairobi.

But what was more shocking is that the Chinese Restaurant pulled this racist stunt since 2013; in an African City, in an African Country and inside an African Continent. The value of a human being is measured by the content of his or her character and not by the color of the skin. The Chinese Restaurant must not have gotten the memo.

Well, you can always rely on Kenyans on Twitter to drive the message home, and drive they did! In collaboration with the main stream media. So much, so that they arm-twisted the Nairobi Governor, Evans Kidero to shut down the Chinese Restaurant. I say arm-twisting because, to say the Nairobi County government had no knowledge of the Chinese Restaurant operating without complying with the government’s regulation for that long raises a whole new shocking topic. Even if China has now become a close friend to Kenya and many other African countries.$$$$$$$$

So Kenyans took to social media, armed with nothing but hashtags and showed the racist Chinese Restaurant that Africans run the town. Under the hashtags #RacistRestaurant, #NoBlacksHere, #TheChineseInvasion and #NoBlacksAllowed, Kenyans on Twitter arm-twisted racism to reckon times have changed:

But won’t it be even more amazing if Kenyans marshaled their new found power on social media to fight tribalism that is creating an even worse social disparity and discrimination? Tribalism is a far greater evil in Kenya than racism. Politicians know just how to play their tribal cards rights to ascend to power and maintain it; with little all-inclusive development to show for it.
