Microsoft Surface Book, Lumia 950: Specs, Price and Release Date

The much awaited event of Microsoft on Oct, 6 in New York was full of sensational devices. Among the best new products announced by Microsoft are news Windows 10 phones and a brand new laptop called Microsoft Surface Book.

Microsoft Surface Book: Sensational 2 in 1 Device

Microsoft Surface Book is a two in one device. It apparently is a Surface tablet, but in reality it’s a full laptop. Surface Book has a 13.5-inch display and the first ever device by the Redmond giant which is supporting a 3:2 aspect ratio.

As you can see in the GIF above, the screen is completely detachable from the keyboard with the help of flexible hinge.

Microsoft Surface Book processor is an impressive 6th Generation Intel Skylake. Surface Book has PixelSense for touch with backlit lights on the laptop backside which look amazing. The Book is loaded with a brand new NVIDIA GeForce graphics processing unit which was made with the help of Xbox Team.

Microsoft, in the event, claimed that Surface Book is twice as fast as the new MacBook Pro. It even showed some demos.

Microsoft seems to have left no area untouched as far as excellency is concerned. The new Surface Book has GDDR5 Ram. Its battery life is being claimed as 12 full hours.

The price tag has a hefty figure of $1499 stamped on, but I guess with the specs and features of Surface Book, a price like this was expected. Surface Book will be rolled out for sale in US and Canada on October 26 and for rest of the world, a date will be announced soon.

Lumia 950 and 950 XL

But that was not all! Microsoft launched new iterations for its Lumia flagship in the Oct 6 historic event. The new phones are Lumia 960 and Lumia 960 XL. The size of the phones is 5.2 inches and 5.7 inches. Lumia 950 has Octa core processor, whereas 950 XL is powered by hexacore processor.

Both Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are loaded with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The new exciting features include USB-C drive and Qi wireless charging with microSD card support.

Do you know the best feature of both the new phones? They have a 20MP camera, with triple LED flash, a front facing 5MP shooter for your selfies.

Microsoft facial recognition technology to unlock phones, built-in Windows 10 apps and Office suite with Cortana and Microsoft Hello, are some of the software attractions of these phones.

The Lumia 950 and 950 XL  devices start at $549 and will be up for sale next month. Microsoft has been facing immense problems in the mobile market for years. With these two new phones, the company expecting breakthrough.
