by Milicent Atieno

To kick start the second phase of MTN Foundation Scholars, MTN has partnered with Oracle to train up to 2,000 Nigerian students in ICT. Some of the ICT skills the participating students will gain include Java Fundamental and Oracle Database training.

The students will be taught about database design, SQL and Java programming skills, using the Oracle Academy curriculum. The training will be conducted wholly online with the learning and training materials being conducted also purely online.

The MTN Foundation and Oracle initiative is intended to spark an interest in science and technology among the Nigerian students. The training session will run for 18 weeks and will have two lectures every week. The students are expected to go online to attend each class.
