Netflix is looking for animators in Africa, and here is how to qualify

Netflix has clearly set itself on the path to becoming the biggest original movies and series entertainment platform in the world.

The US streaming platform, now available across more regions around the world, wants to create original content from around the world. Africa, as a continent already has a couple of movies and shows on the Netflix, such as the Mama K’s Team 4 – the continent’s first animated series.

Netflix now wants more content from Africa is now calling out on animators to submit their best works for considerations. The company recently held an animation session titled at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in Annecy, France dubbed ‘A Studio Without Borders’ on June 12, 2019.

Melissa Cobb, the VP of Kids & Family who was the host of the session, gave in-depth details of what Netflix is looking for, “Great creators, who can execute their vision but we don’t have any guidelines.”

However, as general pro tips, animators with content focusing on the challenges faced by women, and innovative solutions will go a long way towards impressing the judges.
