Nigerian Teenager from New York Accepted By MIT and Major Ivy League Schools
You must be used to watching productivity talks, lectures about hard work, but the best way to stay motivated is to see the real life examples and learn from them. Meet Harold Ekeh, a 17-year-old Nigerian who was moved to US with his family when he was 8. Ekeh is all over the news because he has been selected by every famous college you can think of, including the eight Ivy League schools which include Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Princeton University, and Yale University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania. Most of us would have gone mad with joy jumping if we could get admission at only one of these prestigious schools let alone all of them.
On March 31st morning, Ekeh woke up a bit anxious because this was the day of the announcement of school enrollment decision. In his home— in Elmont, New York— Ekeh logged in his computer and could not believe his eyes: He was accepted at every college he applied, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology and all 8 Ivy League Schools.
The proud parents of Ekeh are very happy. The mother of Ekeh says that the hard work has finally paid off.
Ekeh has an astonishing education record as one can imagine. Apart from being the top student, Ekeh is the mentor in the evening preparation program, served as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper and vice president of Model United Nations.
Ekeh has one month to decide. He says that he is more tilted towards going to Yale, as the people, education programs there are more of his interest. Ekeh will choose medicine as his field of study.
