Itanna acceleration program, which offers tech startups training, mentorship, and a chance to win $30,000 in funding, is now receiving applications.

Created by Nigeria’s Honeywell Group, the acceleration program is currently in its second edition. The Honeywell Group launched Itanna in 2018. The program runs for four months providing participating startups the expertise, network, institutional knowledge and capital funding to enable startups to scale their activities. In its inaugural program, Itanna chose four startups:

Accounteer – an online accounting service

KoloPay – a mobile and web savings app

Tradebuza – a commodity sourcing platform

PowerCube – providing an affordable power supply from renewable energy

Each of the above startups walked home with $25,000 in funding. Itanna is now receiving its application for its second cohort of startup. For the second round, the investment has risen to $30,000.

Startups selected for the program will get training in tech fields such as UI/UX, pricing models, marketing, legal and HR, and operational metrics and mentorship session. They will also attend lectured held by guest lecturers from iconic entrepreneurs and business moguls from across Africa.

The application will remain open until April 19. The second round of the competition will also be enrolling 10 additional companies. Once selected, the startup will be taken through an incubation program from June to September.

The incubation period will end with a demo day where the startup will be pitching their ideas before a crowd of investors.

Itanna will support investee companies to scale up their startups by leveraging Honeywell Group’s extensive network, industry expertise and, most importantly, access to capital,” said Tomi Otuduke, the director of Itanna.
