Nigeria’s film industry – Nollywood – has come a long way over the years. The movies that they release these days have better storylines, graphic designs for the cartoon caricatures and the special effects for the actors look almost real. In this feature, we are going to talk about Hakeem Onilogbo, an award-winning Nollywood Makeup Artist and the CEO of Hakeem Effect.

Hakeem has been a painter from a tender age, but when he was 10 years old (that was in 2008) he stopped painting. He later resumed painting as a passion, and for him, it was just like riding a bike.

Back to work… I stopped painting in the year 2008, 10 years ago,” said Hakeem. “… no matter how long a prince stays outside his Father’s kingdom when he returns, he retains his royalty.”

Hakeem has been a makeup artist for Nollywood movies, and in his years of practice, he has earned several awards to become one of the most sort after in the industry.

His latest work that earned him a lot of attention is the painting of a huge red-headed rock Agama Lizard at the entrance gate of a building. He finished the painting up with a poolside painting of a half-nude woman.Nollywood award winning Makeup Artist Hakeem Onilogbo
