Software Rockstar will tomorrow flex its hardware muscle, launching the ‘First Smartphone’ #MadeByGoogle

Search engine giant and software superstar Google is set to host a big event tomorrow October 4th, 2016. Where the company is expected to ‘for the first time flex its hardware muscle,’ and smartphones heavyweights like Samsung and Apple should be a worried lot. Even Amazon should be jittery, as Google is set to launch top tier home virtual assistant, a niche the online mall has been dominating.

On Tuesday, Google is said set to release the first line of Google-branded smartphones, a tablet, and a virtual assistant for homes. Experts say tomorrow; the company will show the vision laid out by its CEO Sundar Pichai at last year’s Google I/O come to reality.

The line of devices to be released tomorrow are expected to highlight the strong software might Google has achieved in its latest mobile OS, Android Nougat. Over the weekend, Google sparked off a frenzy on social media under the hashtag #MadeByGoogle, with a video of what seemed like a long rectangular transforming into a smartphone silhouette.

Well, to say that this will be Google’s ‘first smartphone’ might not be all the way correct. In the past, Google has worked with OEMs to produce its own smartphones. The Nexus line of smartphones was made by Google, well made for Google, by other partner OEMs.

Unlike the previous smartphones made for Google, this one, ‘made by Google’ will drop the ‘Nexus’ name for ‘Pixel.’ The company itself insisted on and reinforced ‘made by Google caption on the mock videos and pictures released of its next flagship smartphone. That could point out that for the company is making its own smartphone.

Given its operating system (Android) dominance in the mobile space, fielding its own device to accompany that will effectively put it directly into competition with Apple. Unlike Google, Apple makes its own devices and the OS running on them. On the other hand, Google makes Android and releases it for free to OEMs who tinker a bit with it to suit their preference.
