Following a successful inaugural African run in Nairobi, Kenya last year. TechCrunch’s Startup Battlefield will be holding a second run in Africa in Lagos, Nigeria come December 2018.

Though we cannot yet confirm the date and the venue, we do know for certain that TechCrunch has again partnered with Facebook to make the Startup Battlefield Africa possible. In last year’s event in Nairobi, TechCrunch also partnered with Facebook to make the event possible.

Startups from across Africa are invited to apply. From the application, the top 15 best startups will be selected to pitch at the Startup Battlefield in Lagos. The finalists out of the 15 bunch will get coaching from TechCrunch editors, who will further hone their pitches before they are presented for another pitch sessions before venture capitalist from Nigeria and around the world.

The overall winner will walk home with $25,000 plus a trip for two to attend the next TechCrunch Disrupt event. At the Disrupt event, the winner-startup will also get to exhibit their products free of charge at a world-stage platform. If they manage to knock the socks off the judges and the attendees, that startup will then proceed to participate at the Startup Battlefield competition that is associated with that Disrupt event.

Startups from across Africa are called to apply for the Startup Battlefield Africa competition at this link.
