When it comes to internet connections, Kenyans, especially those living in and near urban areas are spoilt for choice as far as mobile data is concerned. Speeds have been getting faster, and the cost has been taking a nose-dive. Well, Telkom Kenya is awarding its mobile data-heavy users with free 10GB mobile data bundle every night (from 12 AM to 6 AM).

FYI, the telecom now boasts of at least 4.1 million subscribers across Kenya. That is according to stats released by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA). So it is safe to say, Telkom Kenya is a pretty popular telecom operator; though I would bet my money on most users using its mobile data than any other service it offers, with the least being mobile money service T-Kash.

Be that as it may, if you are on Telkom Kenya mobile data plan of at least Ksh. 999 ($10). Every night you will be given free 10GB mobile data all the way through mid-January 2019. That is as long as you still have a valid bundle subscription.

The Ksh. 999 package normally comes with 7GB data bundles and 300 minutes of voice calls to any network. A pretty good deal, don’t you think? However, for this festive season, Telkom Kenya is awarding you a free 10GB data plan every night.

Heavy Users extended Christmas gift

I don’t imagine what the ordinary users would be doing with 10GB of mobile data every night. Checking your emails, going on social media, and reading stuff off the internet will certainly not consume 10GB every night.

This package will better serve heavy users who are constantly downloading a lot of multimedia files such as videos. The fact that it extends up to mid-January, or as local Kenyans like to call it Njanuary, means it will spare heavy users cost on mobile data fees during one of the toughest months in the year.

Users can access the new package by dialing *544# on their Telkom lines. And please note, any unused data will not be carried forward, so try to exhaust it between 12 AM and 6 AM. Otherwise, it will just ‘waste away.’
