Judging by the last two presidential elections, media mogul Oprah Winfrey, can be said to be a staunch Democrat. She endorsed Hillary Clinton in the just concluded U.S. presidential election and also gave significant amounts of donations towards the Obama campaign bid for office.
Now, Hillary didn’t win! Trump won, much to the surprise and anger of Hillary’s supporters. Who up to the point of the vote count, seemed many than Trump’s supporters. When it is all said and done, but is currently the U.S.A President-elect and set to be sworn in come January 2017.
On Thursday, Nov 10, Oprah, I suppose like many other Americans, were watching the first meeting between the outgoing President Obama and President-elect Trump. Oprah tweeted the following picture of the two meeting with a caption that appeared to have rubbed her fans wrongly.
Everybody take a deep breath! #HopeLives! pic.twitter.com/YqNJSUab3a

Her tweet backlashed, as her fans took it as an acceptance of a Trump’s presidency. All sorts of accusations have since been leveled against Oprah for her tweet. Some are saying she completely ignored the hate incitement Trump purportedly made against minority communities in America and his stand on the issue of women rights.
The following is just a sample of some of the bashing Oprah is receiving over her tweet. Some are jokingly referencing Oprah show segment ‘Favorite Things’ where the talk show host gives the audience expensive gifts.
@Oprah Maybe you could have opened your influential mouth a little more throughout the campaign. Lost a lot of respect.

@iEggOi @Oprah Move on. Trump won. Now it is the time for DNC to plan for 2020. Look at how they can help the middle class and they will win

@Oprah please do not normalize this man. Minority children are already being targeted.
