Kenya is about to join the short list of African countries who have deployed satellite into space. This development comes about after students at the University of Nairobi in collaboration with their counterparts at the Sapienza University of Rome and Japan to build the 1KUNS-PF satellite. The satellite is a CubeSate (10*10*10 cm cube).

The 1KUNS-PF satellite will be launched into space in a few months from the International Space Station (ISS). The satellite will be used to monitor data on farming trends and provide information on coastal progression. The data obtained from the satellite will go a long way towards soil management and farming in Kenya.1KUNS-PF
