Instant Hotspot is one the top features Apple introduced in its iOS 8.1 iteration. This feature allows you to share your WiFi connection across multiple devices like iPhone, iPad and Mac. This comes handy when you have problems in a Wifi connection, or you want to share data in between devices on the same internet connection. Instant Hotspot also lets you make remote internet connection remotely from Mac, iPhone or iPad. Sharing a connection across devices on iOS 8.1 also lets you enter and change passwords remotely by using any device.

There is another nifty feature which can be used because of Instant Hotspot in iOS 8.1. It enables you to see iPhone signal strength, battery status and network connection type. You can easily view the iPhone status of internet connection in iOS 8.1, but most of the users are still unaware of this useful feature.

If you click on Mac Wifi connection settings of open iPad’s connection settings, you will see your iPhone name and connection type with status in the bar. This only happens if the same iCloud account is shared across multiple devices.

What is the use of this feature? Suppose you are using Mac or iPad and your iPhone is in another room, you can quickly check its battery status, its connection type (3G or 4G). This helps a lot because if the battery timing is depleted, you can quickly put your device to charging to avoid any hassle.
