Pan-African business support platform for startups, Starta, will give up to N200,000 ($1,000) worth of business support to early-stage startups and entrepreneurs at its first Starta Entrepreneur Competition. The support will cover legal support, accounting, printing and web development services.

The startup support platform is doing this in partnership with the Lagos-based legal firm for entrepreneurs, The Longe Practice  LP;  the automated legal services platform DIYLaw.ng; the digital creatives marketplace, Codulab; Audeo Advisory Services; and the next generation print shop, Printivo.

Starta expects that the competition will help entrepreneurs address some of the challenges they face while setting up their business, which includes (1) how to register as a legal entity, (2) how to design and get the business brand into the hands of customers, (3) how to have a web presence, and (4) how to set up finance, accounting and tax.”

Odunola Longe, Co-founder of The Longe Practice is excited about the competition. “At The Longe Practice, our entire business is built upon helping African entrepreneurs succeed,” she said. “We are fans of what Starta is doing for the African startups and are glad to partner with them in this competition.”
