10 Nigerian Startup to win $31,800 from The Amazon Project TV Show

Atlanta, G.A., based digital marketing agency, AIS Media, has initiated a 13-week long reality TV program that seeks to identify and invest in the most promising entrepreneurs and startups in Nigeria. Dubbed, The Amazon Project (TAP), the show will be aired on both terrestrial and satellite TV channels.

The program will select the 10 best of the best participants who will walk home with ₦10 million ($31,821) in seed funding and incubation support. Participants will be chosen by the leading entrepreneurship and capacity building centers around Nigeria, who will work in collaboration with a big consulting firm based in Nigeria.

The winners will be chosen by an expert panelist made up of very seasoned judges in conjunction with the viewers (audience) of the show.

Wole Faroun, the CEO of TAP said, “Doing business in Nigeria in a recession is a like wading through the famous Amazon rainforest where only the toughest and smartest survive. This project will reward entrepreneurs that can prove they have what it takes to make it in Nigeria by applying innovation and smart economics to meeting needs and solving complex business problems.”

Segun Lawal, TAP’s creative anchor, and lead producer added: “The Amazon Project is entrepretainment at its very best. In this intense, reality TV show, business meets entertainment in a manner tailored to the Nigerian environment, and geared at promoting local industry and innovation.”

The reality TV show, TAP, is sponsored by a leading telecommunication company and a well-established commercial bank. The shows will be produced by Ultima Studios at their multimillion-dollar studio complex in Lagos.
