5th Global Entrepreneurship Summit, to be Hosted in Morocco Nov. 19-21

For the first time, Africa will play host to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (#GES2014) and the host country is set to be Morocco. The event is slated to take place on November 19th to 21st 2014 in Marrakesh, and is expected to attract a high-profile delegation comprising of more than 3,000 entrepreneurs, heads of state, corporate leaders and high level government officials.

This will be the 5th Summit which will be held under the theme, “Harnessing the Power of Technology for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.” It will be held under the high patronage of his Majesty King Mohammed VI. The event will deliberate on the various positive impacts of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Some of the issues expected to be in discussion at the event include new ventures financing, upgrading enterprises, shifting attention to the formal sector, nurturing talents into entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.

The United States delegation to the Summit will be led by US Vice President, Joe Biden and U.S Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker. Members of the Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE) initiative will also join the entourage as entrepreneurship ambassadors.

  1. Daphne Koller – Co-Founder and President, Coursera.
  2. Hamdi Ulukaya – Founder and CEO, Chobani.
  3. Alexa von Tobel – Founder and CEO, LearnVest.
