7 Awesome Organizations for Women Professionals in Tech
It’s always good to have a network of like-minded people who not only get you but can help in your career or entrepreneurial advancement and enrichment. If you’re a woman of color in the tech industry, this is an even more vital component in success considering the disproportional number of females of African descent in the industry.

Check out these five great organizations that provide resources, networking and a support system to women in tech:

The AWP Network: The Web portal provides resources to encourage and facilitate small business success for African entrepreneurs, and offers educational tools via online courses, and community support via networking and advocacy events.

Black Girls Code: Through community workshops and after-school programs, this organization introduces coding lessons to young girls from underrepresented communities, and has chapters from New York to California to Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Boss Network: This online community of professional and entrepreneurial women supports each other through conversation, online and event-based networking. With bosses located across the U.S., this network provides avenues for promoting your professional and entrepreneurial endeavors as well as connecting with others in the network.

The Twenty Ten Club: Named one of the “UK’s Social Enterprises of the Year” at the Future 100 awards—and helmed by a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Octavia Goredema, the Twenty Ten Club champions the success of Black female business role models in the U.K and abroad. The organization provides resources via the Web as well as events in the U.K. and Africa.

The Digital Sisterhood Network: This media channel and community celebrates women in social media and tech through leadership, lifestyle, and health initiatives. It utilizes social media with its #DigitalSisterhood Wednesdays, a weekly celebration held  on Twitter and Facebook that encourages women to celebrate their achievements, network and converse on topics of interest.

The Ada Initiative: This organization provides support resources for women in open technology and culture through activities like producing codes of conduct and anti-harassment policies, advocating for gender diversity, teaching allies, and hosting conferences for women in open tech/culture.
