They say to keep things interesting in a relationship, the couple should be trying new things every now and then. You know, to spice up things. You could change positions in bed, decided to eat out, and (well, I don’t know) go for a DNA test.
Well, there is this young couple that decided to go for the latter just for “fun”. However, when the test results from Ancenstry.com came back, what they discovered shuttered their relationship. Someone called it quits.
The woman (27-years-old) was excited to share her results with her partner after finding some pretty interesting information about her ancenstry. Then it was the man’s (26-years-old) to share his results.
What the man shared would break up the couple in the months to come. As the Mirror puts it, the man took to Reddit to share the information that his girlfriend broke up with him over their DNA results.
He says the results unearthed a well-kept family secret even he didn’t know about, and something his girlfriend cannot get over.
In the Reddit, the man explains: “A month ago, my girlfriend and I thought it would be fund to do the DNA test offered by Ancestry.com to learn more about our family tree.
They really give you a lot of info and it took a while to go over.
We were having a lot of fun with it but then I found something out about one of my ancestors that has now caused me to lose my girlfriend.
There were a few names in my family tree that I did not recognize and after doing some research it turns out that one of my ancestors was an infamous serial killer.”
The couple was horrified upon learning the news and decided to double-check with the man’s family if at all the results were accurate. The man’s family admitted there was a serial killer in their family, but they have tried their best over the years to disassociated the family from the person.
The girlfriend simply could not get over the fact that she has all along been dating someone with blood ties to a serial killer. Few months down the line, she called the boyfriend for a serious talk.
The man wrote, “This weekend my girlfriend wanted to meet to have a serious discussion with me.
[She] broke up with me because she could not deal with the fact that I’m related to a serial killer. She told me that she loves me very much, but explained that the fact I had the same blood as someone so evil has made her look at me differently.”
