Google’s ChromeOS-powered Chromebooks have revolutionized modern day computing. Since most of the things we do these days run on the cloud, why not make a cloud-first computer? Though the latest Chromebook does a lot of things offline, compared to its early years.

PC manufacturer have slowly been joining the Chromebook bandwagon, and HP is among the leading OEMs in this field. However, HP has never before produced a 15-inched model of Chromebook; until now.

HP has just unveiled a 15-inched Chromebook that runs on Intel Core i5 chip, 4GB RAM, and 64GB flash storage; at an extra fee, you can double that flash storage. The Chromebook also features the Intel HD Graphics 610 GPU.

According to HP, this Chromebook can give you up to 13 hours on battery life. Of course, you should not take their word for it. Instead, wait for authoritative independent third-party reviewers.

The Chromebook also comes with a front-facing wide-angle camera with an in-built microphone. It also features the B&O speakers. It also comes in two different colors; silver and blue. Though the machines is not yet up for sale, as HP’s official site has it as ‘coming soon,’ we expect the base model to retail at $499.

I’m curious! Can you install Chrome OS on a PC and turn it into a Chromebook?
