African Basketball League Has Partnered With TRACE TV For Broadcast

The African Basketball League (ABL) has received a major boost by partnering with TRACE as their official TV and digital partner. TRACE will be the official broadcaster of ABL League kicking off on March 4th, 2016.

TRACE will broadcast the sports to 160 countries across Africa, Europe, Caribbean, Asia and Indian Ocean.

This is a historic moment for the ABL and will contribute greatly to the growth of professional basketball within the African continent. We are excited to feed the appetite of basketball lovers across the world,” said, Ugo Udezue CEO of ABL. “This is another great way of making the ABL games accessible to millions of passionate Basketball fans wherever they may be and witness the entertainment and excitement that features so many iconic players. We are delighted to have TRACE as our official TV partner.”

His counterpart the CEO of TRACE Nigeria, Samo Onyemelukwe who played a key role in negotiating the TRACE – ABL partnership said:

This partnership is a new occasion to demonstrate TRACE continuous engagement and support of the best African talents. With ABL, we are committed to provide a fantastic sport and entertainment experience to all basketball fans in Africa and the rest of the world.

All the ABL games not excluding the All Star Games, the Playoff and the behind the scenes footage will be aired live on TRACE channels including the TRACE Sports Stars. The first international entertainment channel that is dedicated to showing the sports world live.

So far, six strong basketball clubs have signed up to feature on ABL debut season, Lagos Islanders, Stallions and Lagos Warriors from Nigeria. Other clubs are Dakar Rapids from Senegal, Izobe Basketball Club from Libreville, Gabon and Abidjan Ramblers from Cote d’Ivoire.

The Lagos team will play at the Landmark stadium with a capacity of more than 4,000 for their home games. ABL is sponsored by TRACE, Cornerstone Insurance, THE BEAT 99.9FM, Union Bank, and ASKY Airlines.
