After a very  long period of rumors, Amazon has finally launched its first smartphone, the Fire Phone. But will it be able to compete with all the existing developed smartphone technology? Will it be able to stand up against giants like Samsung and Apple? Let us find out by the following technical comparison of iPhone and Amazon Fire Phone.


The size of the LCD of Fire Phone is 4.7 inches whereas the size of LCD of iPhone 5S is 4 inches. Both phones have Gorilla glass, which is scratch resistant.

Weight of Fire phone is 160 grams is more than the weight of iPhone 5S, which is 112 grams.

The dimensions of Fire Phone are 139.2 x 66.5 x 8.9mm whereas the dimensions of iPhone 5S are 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6mm, which makes the iPhone relatively smaller and lighter.


Hardware Specifications

The processor for the Fire Phone is Snapdragon Quad Core 2.2 GHz 800 CPU. In iPhone, the processor is entirely developed by Apple, which is 1.3 GHz Dual core A7 chip.

RAM on Fire Phone is 2 GB and it is available in 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage. In case of iPhone the RAM is half than that of Fire Phone and it is available in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB versions.

The GPU of Fire Phone is Ardeno 330, and it is paired with its processor, whereas in iPhone, the GPU is G6430.



The resolution of Amazon Fire Phone is very less if you compare it with its competitors. The resolution is 1280×720 pixels, whereas iPhone 5S has 1136×640 pixel display for its smaller screen. This makes the pixel density for Fire Phone 315 dpi and 326 dpi for iPhone. The Fire Phone display is also IPS panel, which increases the range of viewing angles for the phone.


The cameras in Fire Phone certainly beat the cameras of iPhone. There are actually 6 cameras in Fire Phone, and the Back camera is f/2.0 13 MP. Whereas iPhone has 8 MP f/2.2 rear camera and 1.2 MP front camera.
