Apple Has Released The iOS 8.0.2 To Address Bugs in iOS 8.0.1 and iOS 8

Apple has yet again released the iOS 8.0.2 upgrade to address bugs issues reported on the initial iOS 8 operating system and the iOS 8.0.1 update. The company says that the update will resolve all the bug issues reported by iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus user who had upgraded to their latest operating system.

In a statement, Apple said, “We apologize for inconveniencing the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who were impacted by the bug in iOS 8.0.1.

Last Wednesday, Apple had to pull the 8.0.1 update from the App Store after just 60 minutes of availability. After users started reporting that it caused their phone to lose cellular network connection and disable the Touch ID fingerprint scanner feature on their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phones.

According to a statement made by Apple’s spokeswoman, less than 40,000 devices were reported to have this bug issue. With the release of iOS 8.0.2, Apple says the update will address the following reported bugs:

  1. Address the problem with iOS 8.0.1 that led to losing of cellular network connectivity and Touch ID feature on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
  2. Solve the bug that made HealthKits apps unavailable from the App Store.
  3. Resolve the bug with 3rd party keyboards where they became deselected when the users enters his/her passcode.
  4. Resolve a bug that prevented certain apps from gaining access to Photo Library.
  5. Fix the bug that caused unexpected cellular data consumption when the phone receives an SMS/MMS message.
  6. Fix the bug that sometimes made ringtones not be restored from the iCloud backup.
  7. Fix a bug with Safari that prevented the browser from uploading photos and videos.
  8. Improve support system for the ‘Ask To Buy’ for the Family Sharing for In-App Purchases.

While the iOS 8.0.2 update is meant to fix software related bugs on the latest operating system from Apple. The tech-giant still has another hardware fiasco to deal with. The iPhone 6 Plus has been reported to bend when placed inside the pocket.

Some have taken to social media terming it as “Bendgate” and is going viral. There are also videos spreading through the internet showing the iPhone 6 Plus being bent by hand. Apple on its part, is saying that there are only 9 iPhones that have been reported so far to have this problem.
