Apple Sells 4 Million iPhone 6 & 6 Plus on the first day

It seems a lot of people were dying to get their hands on the iPhone 6. Apple sold more than 4 million iPhone6 and iPhone 6 Plus on the first day of sale on Friday. According to the company, the first day that the iPhone 6 were available for pre-orders was on Monday. Customers’ demand for the iPhone 6 Plus was so high that it sold out in less than an hour.

Most of the customers who had pre-ordered their iPhone 6 are set to get them this Friday, but many more will not get their iPhone until next month. Apple said, “Demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply.”

The company said that the additional supply will be made available to walk-in customers by Friday, September 19th, starting at 8:00AM local time at Apple stores, with people already camping outside Apple Stores around the world.

When the iPhone 5S and 5C were released over a year ago, Apple sold 9 million iPhone 5S and 5C in the first weekend. But unlike last year when the new iPhones were made available for sale at the same time in China as well as in the United States, this year China will have the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus available much later. As it was not listed among the 30 countries set to get the iPhone this month.
