Assassin’s Creed Unity Review

The Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is an outstanding Xbox One and PS4 game that has certainly captured the attention of users of gaming consoles since its release on 11 November, 2014. This game takes you to the historic moments of Bloody French Revolution, the days of war and plunder, when thousands of peasants revolted against King Louis. This article will review the Assassin’s Creed Unity.

In this game, you will explore Paris and its delights as Arno Dorian. He is basically a newly initiated Assassin amidst the French Revolution Paris. He possesses strong will power and has close resemblance with the popular assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze from the Assassin’s Creed 2.

The game follows the life of Arno from his young age to the peek of his Assassin’s career. It is one of the most compelling and strongest things seen in the Assassin’s Creed game so far. It would be unjust to break the suspense as you will explore the wonderful things yourself.

You will not observe the Versailles during the main campaign of the game. You will spend all of your time in Paris. It is the biggest and also the most densely packed of the Assassin’s Creed worlds. You can also enter into a large number of buildings. The buildings are more than just the shells or blocks, which certainly makes the things very interesting.

The main focus of the game is on the sense of freedom for players. The missions of the main storyline have been revamped so that you have complete control over your approach towards missions. With each mission, you will also get the optional objectives such as taking plenty of guards from cover or hiding points, sabotaging alarm bells, or performing double air assassinations.

You will need to use the special skills to clearing some missions. The skills are broadly classified into four categories: Melee, Ranged, Stealth, and Health. The Stealth skills are perhaps most helpful as it offers the lockpicking abilities for alternate entry into the buildings. You also need to unlock the certain skills for gaining abilities that other Assassin’s like Edward Kenway had as standard.

You will praise the open-ended missions and challenges. You have the complete freedom to design your own path for accomplishing your tasks. Ubisoft has offered innovation in two key elements in the game: free-running and combat. You will find hard to score at times, unable to climb up or down, even by the route you came to that point. However, the overall control is extremely better as compared to that for the previous versions. There are still some areas for improvements for future generation games.

Verdict

Assassin’s Creed Unity is the perfect starting point for the players who are new to the game. It is by far the best game of the series in many respects. The revamped control and combat systems make it accessible for all gamers. In short, this game will keep you engaged for a long time.
