BE Small Business Awards; Submission Deadline March 31st
The Black Enterprise (BE) Small Business Awards seeks to recognize outstanding African American entrepreneurs demonstrating the Black Enterprise entrepreneurial spirit. The organization is currently looking to give recognition and limelight to individuals and companies with new products in the market that are redefining sales strategies and opening new and profitable markets.
Interested applicants are required to submit their application by Tuesday March 31st, 2015. Winners will be announced at a special awards luncheon that will be held on May 14th, 2015 at the Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Summit.
What to expect:
Nominees will receive a mention by BE either online or print
Nominees will be recognized at the Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Summit awards luncheon
Winners will walk away with the prestigious BE Small Business Award
The Award Categories and the Nomination Requirements are as follows:
Techpreneur of the Year: This award will be given to a rapidly growing company with a groundbreaking technology product that is disrupting the digital industry in one way or another.
Community Pillar of the Year: This award will be in recognition of an outstanding entrepreneur who has come up with a product or services that enrich the lives of others while at the same time building a strong brand.
Family Business of the Year: This award will be presented to family-run business excelling in its respective industry through the combined efforts, experience sand expertise of family members.
Franchise Owner of the Year: This award will be in recognition of outstanding franchise for its performance and overall contribution to the growth and development of the franchising industry.
Teenpreneur of the Year – This award will recognize entrepreneurs aged 19 and below, who committed to the tradition of the black business achievement.
The company willing to take part in the Awards must meet the following nomination criteria:
Must be independently owned
Must have been in operation for a least two (2) years
Must have black owners holding at least 51% stake in the company
Annual revenue must be at least $250,000 but not exceeding $20 million
Illustrate a pattern of income increase for the two years preceding the application or how you raised a round of capital from angel investors or private equity investors for silicon Startups.
Have at least three employees on the payroll.
