“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” those were the sad words Yvette Noel-Schure, Prince’s publicist had to break to the media.
As expected, massive mourning is being poured out by his fans all over social media. Some fans liken his death to the sound doves make when they cry, as a reference to his monster hit.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, early this month, Prince said he was not feeling well. So much so that he canceled a concert at the city. Days later after the canceled concert, Prince took to the stage and performed in Atlanta.
After that particular concert, it is said Prince’s plane had to make an emergency landing, and Noel-Schure is reported to have told CNN that, “He is fine and at home.”
The following are some of the condolences messages his fans are making on Twitter:

Prince was a great role model for my generation. Be yourself. Work hard. Be weird if you want. Do your own thing, no matter what.

MN Rep Keith Ellison: Prince showed us it was okay to be different. He showed us that the best way to be cool was to be yourself.
