Cameroon Angels Network Host a #YouCan Pitch Competition

Founded in 2014, Cameroon Angels Network (CAN) is the first network of angel investors in Cameroon. CAN invests in all sectors and industries with a particular interest in technology.
CAN  is organizing a pitch competition at GICAM in Douala, Cameroon on November 29th 2014 called #YouCAN. In partnership with Sanaga Ventures, VC4Africa and ActivSpaces, the competition is open to all startups in Cameroon.

Applications will be open from November 12, 2014 to November 19, 2014. Finalists who will present on the November 29th will be announced on November 24, 2014.

Three prizes will be awarded:

1. Best Overall Project

The winner of the Best Overall Project will receive 500,000 CFA Francs in cash, $5,000 USD in debt financing and up to 20 million CFA of follow on investment over the following 12 months. This winner will also receive professional coaching and technical assistance.

2. Best Presentation

The winner of the Best Presentation will receive 300.000 CFA Francs in cash and up to 5 million CFA Francs of follow on investment over the following 12 months. This winner will also receive professional coaching for 12 months

3. Special Prize from Public

This prize will be awarded based on popular support from attendees at the #YouCAN event. The winner of the Public’s Special Prize will receive 200.000 CFA Francs in cash and professional coaching for 12 months.
