CES2015: Sony Brings Wolds Most Popular OS To Enrich Your Smart TV Viewing

At the just concluded CES2015, Sony unveiled a new range of UHD TVs. Sony promised viewers access to more 3840×2160 content on their new range of smart TVs. All the new TV model will come fitted with new image processing chips and running on the Google’s Android TV platform.

Sony has unveiled a total of 10 new UHD models across four new series ranging in size from 43 to 75 inches. They all have the new Sony 4K Processor X1, which according to Sony is meant to give users improved color, contrast and picture quality.

According to Sony, viewers using these new models of TV should be able to access over 1,300 movies and TV shows among other contents in UHD through services like Netflix, Video Ultimate 4K, and Amazon Instant Video. But the reality is, most media have not yet adapted to the new standard. Thus, you can expect to enjoy the 4K X-Reality Pro improved algorithm technology that improve the picture quality of non-4K content, even if you’re watching standard definition video.

One of the first things users will love most about this new range of TVs from Sony is the Android TV OS that was launched during the Google IO of 2014. This software gives the TV more smart functions, easy access to streaming services, Google Cast, and multiplayer gaming. The smart TVs also get increased access to Sony’s PlayStation Now paid subscription services. This will allow users to pair up Dualshock 4 controller and also to stream selected PS3 games directly from the cloud.

These new TV will be available starting the Q2 of 2015, but prices have not yet been announced.
