The Chinese are on to the next one; 6G Network trials

CHINA 6G Network

As the world moves towards smart connected devices that can (and will be frequently) communicate to one another; Internet of Things (IoT). Connection speed will be very important. You are probably a millennial, and if you’re not you at least know how impatient these folks are and how the future generation will be. We are the microwave, instant coffee, ready to drink type of generation, and when it comes to our smart connected devices, we will need them to meet our needs with 6G Network types of speeds.

The days when someone used to sit for three minutes in front of a computer waiting for 3MB PNG picture to load are gone. These days we download 30MB of data in seconds and don’t bother to download movies anymore; we simply stream them. And you’re reading this thinking just how good have things become, right?

Well, what if I could tell you things could get a lot faster? No, I am not talking 5G Network kind of fast. I am talking about the next level in the connectivity speeds evolution. 6G Network type of speeds.

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology during the 13th National People’s Congress made the announcement that they have already begun trials on 6G Network. The announcement was made by the docket’s Minister, Miao Wei, who further said their research is closely tied to widening application and development of Internet of Things (IoT).

The future promises a lot of smart technology that will be executing multiple tasks autonomously. You will have the driverless car that will be talking to other smart vehicles, smart road signs, smart roads, smart traffic lights… smart everything. These machines and devices will be exchanging information constantly and given the risks involved with driving. Every second count and information delayed even for a micro-second could mean the difference between braking in time to allow pedestrians cross the footpath, and driving over them.

With the fast data transfer speeds promised by networks such as the 6G Network. Information flow will be much faster and the deployment of IoT devices on the roads, at offices, and in our homes would be more effective and efficient.

Already, two leading Chinese tech companies, Huawei and ZTE, are at an advanced stage with 5G network rolls commercial rollouts. With the Ministry already working on the next level, it is only a matter of time before the commercial roll-out of 6G Network become a feasible thing, not just in China but also around the world.
