The De.Brief: Innovation Phones Home

When I sit down to write these articles, I’m at the mercy of developers, manufacturers and my own taste level. There are hundreds of thousands of companies and developers out there, with innovative capabilities, trying their luck and waiting to strike gold. Luck favors the prepared, and the prepared do their homework. They figure out how to put an unexpected twist on existing products and services to fill a need/ want or let they just let their imaginations run right into our hands, after crossing their T’s and dotting their I’s. I say all of that to say, everyone doesn’t do their homework. I spend countless hours every week searching for raw awesomeness. Sometimes I feel like I’ve found some, and then upon closer inspection I realize it’s a dud. It’s hard to explain the feeling you get when you stumble upon something that is innovative—you just know it when you see it, because it makes sense.

This week very few things made sense, but the few that did were on point and they were all smartphone related. We love our phones; they’re pricey little investments that we, most of, hold on to for a max of two years. We download apps, buy accessories and plenty of other things to take our smartphones to the next level, and to hold us over until the “next best thing” come out. With all of that in mind, here are few cool accessories, capabilities and a prototype smartphone to hold you over.
