On June 17, 2014, Innov8tiv reported that Satellite Technology is Being Used To Track The Spread Of Ebola In West Africa .  The story indicated that in June there was an increasing report on the incidences of death related to the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone and Guinea. In an attempt to better improve humanitarian assistance to the region, OpenStreetMap Team has begun giving aid workers in the region an interactive map assistance to help them keep track of the spread of the disease.

Although Interactive maps are being used, the Ebola outbreak has killed more than 700 people in West Africa, and “it’s moving faster than efforts to control the disease,” according to the head of the World Health Organization.

The recent news of 2 Americans arriving in Atlanta, Georgia has raised the awareness level of the Ebola disease in the United States. Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are now full of fears as well as facts on how Ebola is spreading. Innov8tiv is doing its part by sharing what’s happening across the web.
