Fix DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (epfwwfp.sys) Error Blue Screen Windows 10

Windows 10 is the most popular operating system launched by Microsoft after Windows 7. However, Windows platform still needs device drivers for all the basic functions to work. Installation and working of drivers is not devoid of issues. A big error faced by Windows 10 users is Blue screen error DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (epfwwfp.sys) in Windows 10. There are various ways to fix this problem. I will talk about some of the best.

Launch command prompt in your computer and type the follow command and hit enter

DEL /F /S /Q /A “C:\Windows\System32\drivers\epfwwfp.sys”

If the above command was written and executed correctly, you will see a message in the command prompt telling you that a file was deleted. Don’t freak out over this. Now just write ‘Exit’ and hit enter to close the command prompt window. Now restart the computer and the problem will be fixed.

It is important to note that error DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (epfwwfp.sys) is caused by ESET firewall. The file we deleted above ESET Personal Firewall, part of the ESET Smart Security suite. You can always install this software again, and deleting the file will not cause any harm to the normal workings of your computer.

Important note: Remember that the above command executes on the drive ‘C’. If you have everything installed in some other driver, let’s say D, you must replace C with D in the above command.

That’s it. This solution will suffice in fixing the problem at hand. In case you can’t solve the issue, feel free to let us know and we will come up with another solution to this problem.
