IPV6

Other users were able to fix the problem by replacing the routers. You can also fix the Galaxy S6 Wifi not working by turning off the IPv6 settings on your router.

Change Version

Go to the App Manager > All. From here, check which version are you running. There will be two options : 37 and 42. If it is 42, you should roll back to version number 37 from the app manager or the play store. This is because the version 42 is giving the Wifi issues to many users. You can uninstall by going to the path: Setup> Apps> All Apps> Android System Webview> Uninstall Updates

Change Wifi Channel

Changing the Wifi channel also seems to have worked for many users. For example, some users changed their Wifi channel from 6 to 7 and the Wifi problems in S6 were gone. Here is how to change the Wifi channel.

Open browser and type the default gateway and hit enter. Most of the times, the default gateway is 192.168.0.1, but you can contact your ISP to ask for the gateway. After entering the gateway, you should login and you will see a  settings icon from where you can change the Wifi channel from 6 to 7.

Forget Network

If nothing works, you should “forget” the Wifi network and then reconnect. This would remove all the temporary variables and clear the channels. After forgetting the network, you should sign in the Wifi and connect again.
