iMessage is one of the most popular messaging apps in iPhone, used my millions around the world daily. These days a problem is plaguing iMessage, in which the app is not showing “delivered” status to its users. Several users report that they aren’t getting delivered status in iMessage. In fact, they see “not delivered” message in red when they send a message to a specific contact. iMessage does not say or show delivered when a message is sent. A popular theory is that iMessage not showing delivered means you are blocked from the other person. In many cases this is true, and there isn’t anything that could be done in this case, apart from apologizing to your friend for whatever you did wrong. But there are some ways to fix iMessage not showing or say delivered status.
Enable Send SMS
Perhaps the biggest cause of not delivered iMessage problem is lack of iMessage app on the other end. The app will keep showing you not delivered error if the person on the other end doesn’t have iMessage app. That’s why you should enable send sms options in iMessage. This option converts a normal iMessage message to an SMS if the recipient doesn’t have iMessage.
Read Recipients
Some people say that they were able to fix iMessage not showing delivered status by enabling “Read Recipients” in iPhone. But there is a difference in Read Recipients and Delivered status. Still, you can try this solution by going to Settings-> messages and turning on the read recipients option. You can also enable read recipient for specific contacts by going to settings and tapping in (i) sign.
Delete Contact and Message on Number
Another solution that worked for some users to fix no delivered status in iMessage is to delete the number for which you aren’t getting delivered reports, and message them just directly on the number. You don’t need to save the number with a contact name in your phone. This will solve the problem.
Make Sure the Internet is Working
Make sure that the internet is working on your phone. If Wifi isn’t available, make sure that cellular data is up and running.
Restart your Device
Restart your phone and then try to send the message in iMessage app. Sometimes clogged cache doesn’t let messages go through.
Turn off iMessage and then Turn On
Turning off iMessage service and turning it on is also very useful in fixing not delivered iMessage blocked problem. Go to Settings and then head over to iMessage and then Switch off the iMessage toggle bar. Now restart your device, just turn it off and on again using the Power button. Enable iMessage again, try to send a message to see if it helps.
