Fix Samsung Galaxy A5 Doesn’t Work for Fortnite Android Beta

by Fahad Saleem

Fortnite for Android has finally been launched after the long anticipation and hype from fans. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) users are facing the issue of Fortnite Android beta version not working on their phone. Fortnite is the most popular and biggest game nowadays which is making its way towards the biggest platforms in the world. Similar to the iOS version, the Android version also started with a closed beta version which will slowly roll out to more devices. The game is being released for Android, with Samsung users getting the first chance to play it on their phone except for Samsung Galaxy A5 users. Thus, here is the reason for Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) doesn’t work for Fortnite Android beta.

Recently, Fortnite developers have started rolling out the game on Android devices but currently, there are just a few devices which are compatible with the game. The compatible devices don’t include Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) in the list of compatible devices for Fortnite on Android. At this time, you can play Fortnite on the following Samsung devices: Galaxy Note9, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy Tab S3, and Galaxy Tab S4. For the compatible devices, the Fortnite game is available in the Game Launcher folder and in the Galaxy Apps.

The main reason behind Fortnite developers not giving support to the game on Samsung Galaxy A5 is because it is not as powerful as required according to the minimum hardware specifications. The minimum requirements to run Fortnite Android beta on your phone is a 64-bit Android OS which is 5.0 or higher, 3GB or higher RAM, and Adreno 530 or higher GPU. The GPU of A5 is too weak and there is not enough RAM in the phone. This is why the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) doesn’t work for Fortnite Android beta. If the Fortnite developers forced it on the Galaxy A5, it wouldn’t run properly and the frames would be so bad. The game could not be easily optimized on the Samsung Galaxy A5.

You better keep an eye on Forbes for more information on the Android release as things are beginning to roll out more. Releasing the Fortnite game on Android is a huge move from the game developers and it will dramatically increase its users for sure.
