Fix Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped in Android

A lot of Android users have reported an error which says “Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped”. This error comes when you install a new custom ROM or update the firmware. This problem is more common in Galaxy S3 and some old Android devices. You can easily fix Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped by following simple tips and tricks. Clear Data and Cache

In order to solve process com.android.phone has stopped, the first thing you should do is to clear data and cache, as the data in the cache gets jumbled up with the local variables of the native apps. Here’s how to do it.

Launch Settings from your Android device.

Go to Application Manager and switch to “All” tab.

Scroll down and tap the Phone app. It will have a green Phone sign or something similar. Tap it and tap “Clear all Data”. If you see an option for clearing cache, you must clear the cache as well. Do the same process for the “contacts” app. You will find this app in the list of apps when tapped on the “All” tab.

Reset

Resetting your Android device works like a charm to fix Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped error in Android. Here’s how to reset the Android device.

Go to Settings-> Backup and Reset->Factory Reset.

After resetting the device, you will not get the error again. Make sure to take a backup of the data before you reset the device.

Proper Factory Reset the device

Doing a factory reset is the last resort to fix this problem, but it is guaranteed that your problem will be solved and you won’t see this nuisance anymore. In order to perform a factory reset, do the following steps.

Press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power button until the phone vibrates.

You can let go of the power button as soon as the phone vibrates, but you must keep pressing the other two buttons.

In a few seconds, you will see the Android logo. Let go of the buttons, perform a factory reset and that’s it.
