Startup Programs

If you have a lot of apps and software installed in Windows 10, chances are that many of them are loaded when the system is started. These are called startup programs. The operating system launches them, and the computer boot process is not completed until and unless these startup programs aren’t loaded completely. You must remove the programs from the boot process.

Right click on the task bar and click on the Task Manager.

Click on “More Details”. Now click on Startup tab.

The list you see are the programs which are loaded when the system is boot up. If you have unnecessary programs in the list which you can start afterwards, and there is no need to start them automatically during the boot process, you must remove them.

Right click on the program which you want to remove from startup order and click “Disable”.

That’s it. Keep removing all the programs from this list, which you think don’t need an automatic startup launch. You will notice that you can boot Windows 10 much faster. The performance of startup process in Windows 10 will be improved.

Manual Shutdown Shortcut

Another way to speed up Windows 10 boot process is to change the way your system is shutdown. Don’t worry, it would not disturb your computer’s core performance and security. There is a known flaw in the Windows 10 shutdown dynamics which makes the boot process slow. Here’s how to fix it.

Go to control panel and click on “change what the power buttons do” in the Power Options.

Scroll down and you will see an option “turn on fast startup”. Make sure this option is checked/ticked.

Now go to the desktop and make a new shortcut. In its location, give the following.

%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -hybrid -f -t 00

Save this shortcut with any name.

Always use this shortcut to shutdown your computer in Windows 10. You will notice a conspicuous improvement in the speed of Windows 10.

Another common reason behind Windows 10 running slow and Windows 10 slow boot problem is that clutter on hard disk. Make sure to defragment, cleanup your disk. You must have a good RAM and processor if you want optimal performance.
