Ghana’s Dorothy Gordon Among ‘Top African Women in Tech’
The power of women continues to reign despite challenges, as female innovators push forward to become leaders in the tech industry.

Dorothy Gordon, director-General of Ghana’s Advanced Information Technology Institute at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE), is one of those women.

Her expertise in international development has gained widespread acclaim,  and her contribution to the development of Ghana’s ICT sector is undeniable. In June AITI-KACE hosted Ghana’s annual Innovation Week to showcase local tech talent, providing a much-needed platform for aspiring tech professionals as well as industry leaders.

Gordon has helmed training and research initiatives in India and Africa and she holds other exemplary positions in government and tech, including chair of the Commission on E-Government for the World IT Forum (WITFOR), member of the Champions network of the UN-GAID (UN Global Alliance for ICT Development), and president of the IPv6 Forum Ghana.

Gordon is joined by other awesome women in tech including professor Tebello Nyokong, director of the Nanotechnology Innovation Centre at RhodesUniversity; Web strategist, educator and entrepreneur, Eve Dmochowska; and Emma Kaye, co vice-chair of the MEF EMEA Board.
