Google Nexus 7 2016 – News, Release Dates, and Specs

Come October 4th; the search engine giant will launch the Google Nexus 7 2016 in the U.S. The rest of the world will have to wait until the next day Oct. 5th to have the smartphone. This is the official announcement by Google so far.

However, rumor mills are saying Google is going to drop the Nexus name entirely and add some additions to the stock Android. The Bitbag writes that Google has started releasing advertisement pictures of the new device sect to be launched on Oct 4th, and it looks similar to the images that were earlier leaked.

Google next frontier on the mobile space will be through the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, which are believed are meant to go head-to-head with recently released iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Well, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that was to face iPhone 7 in a match of the best of flagship Android versus the best of flagship iOS was a disappointment. Following the global recall of Note 7 due to a flaw in its battery that makes the phone a time-bomb in users’ pockets.

Analysts are now looking up to Google to give us a worthwhile match, besides the usual Samsung versus Apple smartphone battle, has grown old. It is time for new contenders! Well, at least from the Android side, and the Pixel and Pixel XL are what we may have.

Specs on Pixel and Pixel XL

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are said will come with 5-inch and 5.5-inch displays respectively. The latter will also include a 2K resolution. They will both run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM and internal storage options of 32GB and 128GB.

They will both have a 12MP primary and 8MP secondary cameras. In terms of screen resolutions, the Pixel and Pixel XL will sport a 1920x1080p and 2560x1440p both with AMOLED. As for the phone’s ‘juice,’ the Pixel is said will have a 2770mAh battery and the Pixel XL will have a 3450mAh battery.

They will both run Android 7.1 out of the box with a Google UI on top. Both smartphones will be made by HTC and will retail at somewhere about $650 and $700 for the Pixel and Pixel XL respectively.
