‘The Greatest’ Boxing Legend Muhammad Ali dies aged 74

The world has lost one of the most famous and beloved boxers of all time, Muhammad Ali. A legendary boxer who rose to become ‘The Greatest’ boxing athlete, in what some might call in the history of the sport.

According to a family spokesman, Muhammad Ali died on Friday, June 3rd, 2016 in Phoenix. He was admitted to hospital on Thursday for respiratory complications according to the spokesman Bob Gunnell.

Gunnell is quoted by a section of the media saying, “After a 32-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74.

The three-time World Heavyweight Champion boxer died this evening. The Ali family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and support and asks for privacy at this time.”

Ali’s daughter Hana Ali described her father as a “humble mountain”.

 

There was also a tweet made on Ali’s official Twitter handle with the late boxer’s picture and a simple caption: “Muhammad Ali. 1942 – 2016”.
