iMessage is a native messaging app for iOS designed by Apple which lets the users to send or receive SMS, MMS, audios and video. Unlike GSM messaging, iMessage uses your email/ iCloud ID. This saves the Apple users from the SMS routing. But before using this service, you must activate iMessage on your device. If you see ‘Send and Receive at’  option, tap it. This is where you can select ‘Use your Apple ID for iMessage’ and all the messages will be sent and received via iMessage.

Otherwise, just turn ON the toggle bar you see with ‘iMessage’ to activate iMessage on iPad or iPhone.

Now you should wait for the activation of iMessage on your iPad or iPhone. Usually, the activation is done in minutes, but it can take as long as 24 hours. Apple will verify your email, Apple ID, other information.
