How to Change Screen Color from Black and White to Color in Android

Changing the screen color of your phone can help if you are visually impaired or have dyslexia. It also increases aesthetics. The Android users are facing issue of changing their screen color from black and white back to color. Below are the solutions you can try to change color settings to resolve this problem.

Power Saving Mode

Usually the power saving mode in phones converts the color screen to black and white. More specifically the ultra-power saving mode has this functionality to decrease the battery usage when your phone’s battery is low.  Go to your phone’s Settings, then go to Power Saving Mode. Under the power saving mode tab, toggle off the power saving mode. This will change the screen color from black and white back to color.

Reader Mode

Another solution you can try to change screen color from black and white to color is to turn off the Reader mode. Reader mode decreases the amount of blue light radiated to protect your eyes. In the quick settings in the notification bar, pulled down from top of the screen, turn off reader mode. Another way to turn off reader mode is go to your phone’s Settings and then go to Display. Under the display tab, toggle off the reader mode.

Phone Settings

Go to your phone’s Settings and tap on General. Now, go to Accessibility and select Vision. In the vision tab, there are three options you can select from:

  1. Greyscale: This will convert your screen to black and white.
  2. Screen color inversion: The screen colors would be shown in an opposite way.
  3. Screen color adjustment: This lets you customize the screen color according to your personal requirements.

Make sure all these options are toggled off so that your phone’s screen is color display. For customization, you can turn on any of the above options according to your desire. This setting will change the screen color from black and white back to color.

Developer Mode

Go to your phone’s Settings and then go to About Device. Now, tap on Build Number seven times to enable developer options. Then, return back to your phone’s Settings page and you’ll be able to see the developer options. Open developer options, scroll down to Simulate Color Space and select it. Now, select the disable option and press ok. This will change the screen color from black and white back to color.

Third-party App

Try to reboot your phone in safe mode to see if any third-party App is causing the issue. If the problem doesn’t persist in safe mode, it’s a good sign that an App you have installed is the cause of your issue. Finding the culprit App is a bit difficult but try deleting the Apps one by one to check which one is causing the problem. This solution can change screen color from black and white back to color.
